How Motherhood Inspired Me
Nothing could have truly prepared me for motherhood.
The transformation was instant. I was overwhelmed with love, joy, and exhaustion. As I navigated the sleepless nights and the fog of postpartum anxiety, I found myself questioning everything, especially if I could return to the fast-paced world I came from. After years in healthcare operations, where I led large teams and thrived in my role, I suddenly felt lost.
You see, our systems are not built to support working moms. I needed space to breathe, to heal, and to rediscover who I was becoming. Not just as a mother, but as a woman, creator, and entrepreneur.
During a family trip to Asia, surrounded by vibrant textiles and slow, intentional living, I felt deeply connected to something I hadn’t realized I was missing. I watched artisans hand-dye and weave beautiful fabrics with such care, pride, and cultural richness. It reminded me of the power in preserving craft, storytelling, and connection.
That’s when Baan De Sol began to take shape.
Starting a small business as a new mom was never the plan. It just became a part of my journey to healing and purpose. I wanted to build something that reflected my values: sustainability, softness, and a celebration of cultural heritage. Every product isis created with intention, using sustainable fabrics and natural fibers that honor both people and our planet.
Baan De Sol isn’t just about what we wear or use. It’s about how we feel and how we show up for ourselves. I wanted other women, especially mothers, to feel seen, supported, and surrounded by beauty and meaning. Motherhood inspired me to slow down, to create with love, and to take better care of myself so I could be present for my family.
If you’re a mama navigating identity, creativity, or career shifts, you are not alone. You are still allowed to dream. Your ideas matter. Your transformation is powerful.
Baan De Sol is my love letter to the woman I was before motherhood and my offering to you. May we continue to walk this journey in community, with intention and grace.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With love,
Angela
